Library and Information Center
- Library
- The Tajen University Library was established at the time of the school's founding in 1966. The library was originally housed on the third floor of the Nightingale (E) Building. For more and better library facilities, the school began planning construction of the new Administration and Library Building, which opened in March of 2001.
- Computer Center
- The Computer Center was founded in 1980 which was a second-ranking unit affiliated to the Office of Academic Affairs. After the Tajen College was upgraded to the Tajen Institute of Technology in 1999, the Computer Center was promoted to a first-ranking unit which is responsible for the planning and implementation of IT environment establishment. For the campus network, a high speed network access environment has been built up. The cover area of WiFi is amounted to more than 90% of the campus.
- Introduction
- For the purpose of integrating the schools collections and information resources, enhancing the research and learning assistance for both teachers and students, and supporting the computerization of school administration, the Library was merged with the Computer Center into the Library & Information Center on August 1, 2008.
- Structure
- The Library & Information Center has four teams, including the Information Service Center, the System Development Section, the Collections and Technical Section, and the Reader’s Service Section to increase efficiency and achieve better services. From the point of missions, they are divided into two categories, including Library Services (the Collections and Technical Section and Readers Service Section) and Information Services (the Information Service Center and the Administration Information Section).
Library Services:
In 1991, the Library began to establish the library automation system. In 2004, in order to improve the workflow and to provide the better reader service, the library automation system has been replaced by the INNOPACK system. Currently, the Tajen University Library spans 5 stories and contains over 310,000 volumes of books, 1,000 periodical titles, and 35,200 units of non-book materials including CD ROMs, electronic databases, online full-text journals, audiocassettes, videos, etc. The building weighs in at over 8,600 square meters of space, has a total of 1,000 study desks. A friendly network environment is also established which includes Free WiFi connection and around 800 network connection ports for high speed network access. Recently, the library's hours of operation have been extended from 65 to 80 hours per week, including Saturdays and Sundays (the library remains closed on national holidays). In addition to library service and office facilities, the building boasts a large number of personal research rooms, several group discussion rooms, multimedia rooms, and special library use training rooms, use of which is available to all of the Institution's instructors.

- Administrative Philosophy of Tajen Library
- At Tajen University, we believe that the heart of any academic institution is its library. We consider our library to be essential to the academic and professional development of our students. As a result, our library is the most heavily funded of all departments on campus. Currently, our core collections are:
- Health;
- Management;

- Architecture and Facilities
- The Library's architecture is inspired by the spirit of famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright, who believed that a building's furniture should act as a bridge between the facilities and users. To this end, we have designed our library with lots of space, used natural colors and all natural wood furniture. In a further effort to integrate the library resources with its facilities, we have integrated numerous Internet connection ports, allowing easy access to the World Wide Web from virtually anywhere in the building.
The main responsibilities of Information Services include:
- Supporting the campus information infrastructure.
- Providing information, training, and consultation services.
- Integrating and supporting the automated campus administration system.
- Supporting synchronous and asynchronous distance e-learning.
